FAQ
Common questions about the URL Encoder & Decoder
When should I use URL encoding?
Encode characters that are not safe in a URL, such as spaces, &, =, # and non-ASCII text, before putting them in a query string or path.
What is the difference between encodeURI and encodeURIComponent?
encodeURI keeps characters like /, ?, & and = so a full URL stays readable. encodeURIComponent encodes those too, which is correct for a single query value or path segment.
Can I inspect query parameters from a link?
Yes. Paste a full URL or a query string starting with ?. The inspector lists each key and value, and you can edit them and rebuild the string.
Is my URL sent to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you enter or upload is sent to a Wansify server.
Is the URL encoder free?
Yes. It is free to use with no sign-up.
